Members Update: the first wave of short courses are now up and running. See the members section for more information and to sign up.
One of the ways the ADA aims to improve standards is through training. We plan to make use of the broad wealth of knowledge across the industry, and within our own department, to tailor a series of short courses for members.
We hope that these courses will enable our members to develop as professionals, enhance their skills and fill any knowledge gaps, and that, through this, ADA Assistant Directors can be considered the best prepared in the industry.
Training programmes that are currently in development include: Health & Safety, Tracking and Action Vehicles, Wire rigs, Stunt work, and EP Scheduling.
Members can see details of current courses in the Members section of this site. Where suitable short courses already exist we will endeavour to promote these courses to, and arrange discount rates for, our members. If you are a training provider who would like to offer your course to our members please contact us via the website.
We hope in the longer term to establish an Assistant Directors qualification, and are working closely with Skillset to review industry standards for Assistant Directors. We believe that the attainment of these standards will promote best working practice across not only our department, but the industry as a whole.
